The Basingstoke based company operated Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Suzuki, Kia, Honda, Seat and Skoda businesses and following the appointment of administrators in September, City Motor Holdings have closed thirteen dealerships in the Thames Valley area, directly affecting 267 of their employees.

Considering the recent developments at City Motors, we have brought forward a planned recruitment drive in order to employ recently redundant staff from the group.

Simon Joyce, Managing Director of Anchor Vans said: “Due to our proposed expansion of Anchor Vans and Anchor Cars to our new site on the A4 in Midgham, and in light of the situation at City Motors, we have moved forward our recruitment plans and are pleased to welcome five vehicle technicians, two sales staff, one administrator and a parts manager to our growing team.”

Predominantly specialising in used commercial vehicles, Anchor Vans has recently surged into the used car market with the introduction of Anchor Cars. We have been based in West Berkshire for over 30 years and now employ more than 80 staff from the local area across our three businesses.

Both Anchor Vans and Anchor Cars also offer an extensive service facility and we will be happy to assist former City Motors customers who may have service plans, PCP agreements, hire purchase agreements and warranty requirements.
