Anchor Vans, a leading used van retailer, confirms reported 9% drop in average price of used vans since April 2010 price peak
The latest monthly report on the used van market produced by Manheim has detailed a drop in the average price of used vans, thought to be caused by the annual seasonal drop in used van sales over the summer. In total, used van prices are now 9% lower than their peak in April of this year, the current drop being the first reported after ten months of increasing used van prices.
"We see the average used vans price drop every year during the summer," said Simon Joyce, Sales Director for Anchor Vans. "So it was no surprise to us when we saw the report. Everyone is on holiday and the last thing they want to do is worry about buying commercial vehicles for their business when they're taking a break from it all."
"This causes another seasonal variation in used van prices that we're preparing for here at Anchor Vans," Simon continued. "Following the lull over the summer, there's always a huge increase in demand in September, and the average used van price shoots back up again. So I would advise anyone planning to buy a used van for their business to take a look on our website now as they'll bag a real bargain," Simon said. "They'll pay less for a used van now compared to if they wait for September. There's no risk as all of our used vans sold over the phone or through the website have a money back guarantee upon delivery," Simon added. "They are also serviced and covered by warranty too."
