Berkshire’s largest used van retailer Anchor Vans reports sharp increase in demand for 4x4 vehicles, raising prices by 10% since the summer

Padworth UK, Anchor Vans – one of the leading vendors of used vans in the UK reports a significant increase in demand for used 4x4 vehicles in recent weeks, increasing prices by ten percent compared to over the summer.

"Sales of 4x4s have gone through the roof in the last few weeks," said Simon Joyce, Sales Director for Anchor Vans. "As soon as the weather became autumnal and we had a few days of heavy rain, the used 4x4s were selling like the proverbial hotcakes." When asked which models had been selling well, Simon replied; "The Nissan Navara is proving to be popular and also the Toyota HiLux. The popular 4x4s are definitely at the higher end of the market," Simon continued. "They're luxury models with sat nav, leather seats and other luxury features as standard."

"I think they're popular because they're convenient family vehicles as well as work horses," Simon explained. "They can carry a family of five in considerable comfort as well as shifting heavy loads and dealing with difficult terrain and weather. I would like to add that demand for these 4x4 vehicles is only going to increase over the coming months," Simon said, "So I would advise anyone thinking about buying a used 4x4 to do so before the first snowy weather, and they might save themselves some money as the prices will only go up too."
