Shocking, OMG, who would have thought it. 57% of all vans registered in the UK are indeed white, according to research carried out by Direct Line Business, meaning that the white van has reigned supreme for a decade.
You may, however, be more interested to learn what other colours are performing well. Silver saw the biggest increase in popularity. In 2003, only 3% of vans were silver (75,173) but in 2014 this number increased to 11% (368,285).
Silver vans have been on the up since 2012, when they became the nation’s second favourite after white, relegating blue to third place. Blue has been in terminal decline since, now accounting for only 10% of all vans. Red vans dropped down to a paltry 7%. Black, grey and green round off the list.
The research also found that the number of vans on UK roads has increased by 700,000 since 2003. There were 3.3 million vans on UK roads in 2013.
