White van? It’s a sign of taste and elegance we’ll have you know

25 February 2016, 10:19 am

We all know what they say about the “white van man”, but watch this space – it seems we are becoming a nation of white car drivers too.

More than one in five new cars registered are now white, keeping white in the car colour of choice top spot for the third year running, according to official figures released by the SMMT.

With the neutral palette dominating (check us out with the colour theory terminology), the best selling bleached beauties are the Ford Focus, VW Polo and the Fiat 500 with black cars coming in second. There is however a surprising demand for bright colours: mauve, orange and yellow, whilst blue is revelling in a recent revival.

Associated with honesty and purity, it is also suggested by Marcie Cooperman (colour expert at Parsons The New School for Design in New York) that those who choose white have taste and elegance.

Well, we could have told you that, of course.

You can find all of our white vans here.
