‘Tough Mudders’ at Anchor Vans raise nearly £3,000 for Prostate Cancer UK

We’re immensely proud of our team who took on the London West Tough Mudder event on May 7th 2017, raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Together, we raised a whopping £2,900 for the charity and we’d like to say thank you to all those who supported us.

14 team members, sponsored by MotoNovo Finance, faced a gruelling 12-mile course including a series of 20 fearsome obstacles — all while trudging through 500,000 litres of mud.

“This was no walk in the park,” said Managing Director Simon Joyce. “Our team has mixed abilities but the whole point of Tough Mudder is to work together. There simply is no other way to overcome the obstacles. I’m thrilled with the monies raised and couldn’t be more proud of my team”.

Prostate Cancer UK is a charity close to the Anchor Vans team. In 2015, Simon, alongside his wife, Lucy, and brother, Mike, raised over £2,500 by competing in three triathlons.

Simon particularly is no stranger to lung-busting events like the Tough Mudder. He is currently training for his third Ironman which will be in Barcelona this September — an altogether different prospect to the conditions the team faced in May at Culden Faw.

There is still time to donate. Simply visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TeamAnchorVans. Anchor Vans will be matching all funds raised.

Representing the team are: Simon Joyce, Greg Joyce, Lindsay Joyce, Lucy Joyce, Robert Smith, Andy Tucker, Carl Brookes, Craig Mayne, Rob Gray, Antony Gray, Mark Burley, Aron Stroner and George Stroner.
